The Dalliance House in Kifissia, a neoclassical building of 1890 was originally used as a bourgeois house. To give its way to the all-day bar restaurant that is now housed, iron constructions and plasterboards largely covering the treasure of memories which were trapped underneath, had to be totally dismantled. Today, three generations later, The Dalliance House in Kifissia, houses the space created by Lefteris Bakopoulos and his colleagues, so we can enjoy it by morning, noon, or evening.

The exterior of the building was treated in a manner that would bring again the glamour and grandeur worthy of such an iconic structure. The color selections, the emphasis on the outdoor furniture, the metal pergolas, the plane trees as well as the lighting, all highlight the atmosphere of a bygone era in the prestigious area of Kifissia.

In the main entrance a general view of the site is obtained, as it evolves in 180 degrees, revealing from left to right, the bar, the corridor leading to the second floor of the building and the petrol blue room. On the left side of the main entrance, lies the space of the bar. The playful lights of the bar are characteristic. Behind it is found an oversized, specially designed by Panagiotis Fountas, china cabinet, which is inspired by the wooden carved masterpieces of the time, and is now adapted to the needs of the space (by hosting beverage labels from around the world).

Moving through the imposingly faded door of the petrol blue room, we reach at the staircase area and the exit to the backyard. Moving towards the staircase, the design elements are mutated into pop, leading us to an even cosier floor.

In this upper floor the scenery changes, as it could be part of any home including the living room and the monastery style of the dining room.

The elements that characterize The Dalliance House in Kifissia are intimacy, comfort and a tendency to create a space where privacy and sociability are combined and is definitely the play that takes place between the space and its world. Moreover, its is not accidental that the interpretation of the name is none other than the word “flirt”.
